In a unanimous vote DSA Ventura joins VC Defensa, a coalition of local organizations dedicated to protecting the immigrant and refugee population of Ventura County.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are targeting workers in Ventura County with consistent raids as the federal government ramps up immigration enforcement in Southern California. In joining VC Defensa we aim to provide resources to defends our people and help building the local response network that has effectively chronicled ICE’s activity.
This work has just begun. And we will refuse to see our people kidnapped by the state.
Volunteers are needed, and we encourage DSA members – especially natural citizens – along with multilingual speakers, attorneys, law students & paralegals to click over to VC Defensa, sign up to an upcoming workshop or complete the volunteer form.
